On February 17th, 2012, the Thaqalayn Muslim Assocation @ UTSC held an event in celebration of the birth anniversary of the holy Prophet, Prophet Muhammad (S). The event, open to the public, included a lecture on the life of the Holy Prophet (S) by Sheikh Jaffer H. Jaffer followed by a question and answer session.

TMA @ UTSC would like to thank all the volunteers and everyone who came out for the event. Special thanks to Sheikh Jaffer H. Jaffer for accepting our invitation and sharing his knowledge with us. May Allah (S.W.T) bless you all and accept our efforts.

The Perfect Role Model: Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) PosterIn celebration of the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), The Thaqalayn Muslim Assocation (TMA) at UTSC is proud to invite everyone to an event in commemoration of the great life of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Come learn with us, with lessons from Sheikh Jaffer H. Jaffer, and see why the Prophet (PBUH) is the perfect role model! Not just a guide and a role model for Muslims, but for all of humanity.

Admission is free, and there will be food and refreshments served!

About the speaker: Sheikh Jaffer H. Jaffer

Sheikh Jaffer H. Jaffer was raised in Los Angeles, CA and moved to Damascus, Syria in 2007 with his family to pursue Islamic studies at the Sayyida Zainab (SA) Hawza. Upon completion of his studies in 2011, he then moved to Brampton, Ontario where he is now the resident scholor of the Masumeen Islamic Centre. He is also currently writing his Master’s dissertation under the supervision of Sheikh Bahmanpour and is expected to complete his degree in 2012.

On November 21st and 22nd, 2011, in the spirit of Ashura TMA @ UTSC handed out 500 water bottles to students, faculty and staff on campus to spread awarness of the struggles of Imam Hussein (AS).

The TMA executive would once again like to sincerely thank all the volunteers for the support. May Allah (s.w.t) bless you all for your efforts.

Water for Ashura

Water bottles ready to be distributed.In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

In the spirit of Ashura, TMA @ UTSC will be handing out water bottles to students on campus to spread awarness of the struggles of Imam Hussein (AS).

If we were there with him during the Ashura, we would want nothing more than to share water with him, his family, and companions. Symbollicaly, we will share water with our peers on campus out of our love for Ahlul Bayt.

We hope to raise awareness amongst Muslims and non-Muslims alike about the struggles of Imam Hussein (AS) during this time.

Volunteers working hard.Please come by the student centre Monday November 21st to show us your support, we will be selling TMA memberships as well.

If you would like to volunteer please send TMA UTSC a message with your email, and time you would like to sign up. It is greatly appreciated, and a good deed towards the Ahlul Bayt (AS)
